The British Committee sent this video message for the evening's presentation:
Greetings to Professor Pandermalis and all those gathered at the Acropolis Museum for the presentation of the special edition of publications “The Acropolis of Athens”. This publication of facsimile reproductions of documents unpublished dated from 1834, is a valuable contribution and will be in future an indispensable scholarly tool for all those involved in the world-wide campaign for the righting of the wrong perpetuated two centuries and more ago. They demonstrate that the Greek national state from its inception identifies the sculptures taken by Lord Elgin from the Acropolis as a symbol of national identity and has campaigned from that very date for their reunification. This publication bolsters our campaign for the return of these marbles and bolsters our determination that it can, will and must succeed.
