OXFORD GREEK FESTIVAL 2004: PARTHENON PLAY, DEBATE AND EXHIBITION.

SANDIS PRODUCTIONS and the OXFORD GREEK FESTIVAL 2004 present

PARTHENON LOST

A Socratic Dialogue about the Parthenon Marbles

By Constantine Sandis

Sandis Productions in association with The Oxford Greek Festival 2004 (celebrating Greek culture, ancient and modern) is proud to present the World Premiere of Parthenon Lost by young playwright and philosopher Constantine Sandis.

Parthenon Lost is a one-act playlet of intelligence and revealing humour, which uses the form of Socratic Dialogue to illuminate the moral and philosophical questions raised by the Parthenon marbles. The play will premiere at the renowned Oxford Union as part of the Oxford Greek Festival 2004 in May. It will then transfer on the 2nd October 2004 to the UCL Bloomsbury Theatre London for two additional performances.

THE DEBATE

Richard Allan MP, William G. Stewart (TV presenter) and Peter Derow have agreed to participate in a debate (as is traditional at the Oxford Union) vs. Michael Daley (Editor of Art Watch), after which all audience members will be asked to vote. The London Performance will include talks by scholars and celebrities.
